housing stress.

WHY are people so flaky? I am convinced that I need a new set of people to surround myself with, because I think what I expect out of people is too much for the ones I talk to now (in no way am I referencing the navy girls, im talking about most of my friends here at Rutgers)  I'm seriously sick and tired of people who can't keep up with their responsibilities and expect others to do everything for them. if you say you are going to do something STICK TO YOUR WORD AND EFFING DO IT. we are grown ass people, take care of yourself. and NOBODY can tell me that they are 'too busy' for their responsibilities. i am taking SIX classes, working on stuff for my GRE, applying for sumer internships, taking summer classes, grad school applications, trying to figure out my life for AFTER graduation, dealing with family hell problems, bills and expenses, including tuition, this housing BULLSHIT and everything that comes with a commissioning. i am NOT complaining about all my life stresses, because they are nothing to complain about. this is a part of life. these things happen. but what i am upset about is that apparently, other 20someodd year olds cannot handle it. GROW UP, PLEASE. GROW UP.

so what happened with housing is that our friend who is going to take the single has been flaky this whole time but promised to take the single, and now she is contemplating leaving for a semester or year and backing out or something. we are signing our lease NEXT WEEK, and we owe 2100 bucks with that deposit. she owes 750 of that. i CANNOT afford to give an extra 750 bucks that i dont have for her. its UNREAL. plus we owe rent soon after that. NONE of this would have happened if rutgers had a better housing system, but now we have to take what we can get. it makes me really upset because my roommate and I are responsible people, why isn't she being one? couldnt she tell us a month or two ago she wasnt doing this? to leave us at the LAST MINUTE like this? totally not fair or nice. who does that to a friend? now i am struggling, amongst all my papers and finals and responsbiilities, to find someone to fill this void that we trust, so that we have the extra money for next week and we have some place to live next year. SO STRESSFUL.

welcome to real life, ladies and gentlemen. ready or not, here it comes.

  1. Oh Rania! Thanks for dedicating this post to me! I just wish you would have used my name instead of referring to me in third person! Also, I've just put down "GROW UP" on my list of things to do...thanks for helping me straighten out my priorities! <3

    Love,
    Totally irresponsible and flaky

  2. sneha, i am very sorry to say that i meant exactly what i said. if you are going to be upset at me for my own feelings on my blog, please don't read it. i am not apologizing for what i said, because you really disappointed me with everything you did. if you were unsure that you weren't going to pull through, you should have said it from the beginning. i recall you doing the same thing sophomore to junior year as well. im not trying to start drama, bu this is my blog, and i am entitled to my own feelings on my blog. last time i checked, people like my boyfriend fight for that right and im going to damn well and use it. if you want to hate me after this, thats honestly your business.

  3. Rania,
I never asked for an apology. See that is what you do, you make you're life sound SO complicated, so drama filled, like you are the ONLY one going through problems significant enough to be cared about. Sophomore year, my dad stuck to his word, he paid for my housing. Junior year? What happened junior year? I commuted...I wasn't "flaky or irresponsible" to anyone, as you say. I didn't put anyone through any trouble, as you say, so you "recalled" incorrectly. I was never sure Rania, but when I saw the house in beginning of April with my father who had come down from Dubai...he said, I should go ahead with it, I should sign the lease...THAT WAS END OF MARCH/BEGINNING OF APRIL, and maybe two to three weeks after you called me asking for the lease.

  4. You said "couldn't she tell us a month or two ago she wasn't doing this?" A month or two ago, I hadn't even seen the house. See, that's what I hate, the fact that you assume so much, and that you never bothered to call me, yes Reema called me, but you said you'd been contacting me all of the week prior to when she actually got through to me? Seriously? Come on, Rania. You sent me a FB comment, and THAT was all...Reema called me maybe twice, before I picked up. When you told me about the lease, and that she wanted it to quickly, I talked to my father, and he said no, I went through hell and back with him in that conversation, but you wouldn't care Rania, because you're problems are much more significant. What did you want me to do to get the money, sell myself? I had maybe 80 bucks in my account when I got that call from Reema.

  5. Just because I don't say all the shit that's happening in my life, doesn't mean they are non-existent, I don't feel the need to make EVERY part of my life known to everyone. I had a backup for you Rania, as I told Reema as well, knowing that the 750 had to be in by next week made it hard on everyone, and please don't say we knew about it for a while, because we didn't, I found out the same time I told my friend, so it's not like I could have told her before or prepared her. I would have made sure to introduce you to her and I knew you would hit it off, because shes really sweet, and minds her own business...But you never even contacted me after that, like it was end all...I'm sick of bullshit like this. Please, quit the whole "rights" spiel..I understand you're boyfriend fights for us, you don't have to mention that to me, I KNOW IT...I'm thankful for it, and that's that, but please don't use it as a "go to". I never said ANYTHING about the use of your rights, you can say whatever the hell you want to. It saddens me, I was one of the few people that was by your side, your true friend, as hard as you may find that to believe...but for what, for you to call me "irresponsible and flaky" who does that to a friend. You had to stoop down so low to write a blog about your friend who supported you, who was one of the people who let you live with us for a while, no questions asked? Who never questioned your beliefs, or your views or just your nature...but for what? I was wrong, I never doubted you as a friend...Rania, I don't hate you, I hate the fact that you did this to me, that you wrote a "hate note" about me. Never would I have imagined that you, out of anyone else, would have done this to me, instead of talking to me about this.
